September to May is an excellent time to explore South Africa's Western Cape and Garden Route, offering warm weather and plenty of sunshine for sightseeing and scenic road trips. September and October are particularly pleasant, with beautiful spring landscapes and comfortable conditions along the Garden Route.
Day 1: Arrive Cape Town
Arrive in Cape Town and enjoy your included airport transfer to your hotel. Check in and spend the remainder of the day at leisure after your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you can relax at the hotel or begin exploring the vibrant V&A Waterfront and surrounding area.

Day 2: Cape Town – Table Mountain, Penguins & Cape Point
After breakfast, enjoy your included full-day small-group tour of Cape Town, travelling in an air-conditioned vehicle with a professional, accredited guide/driver. Begin with a brief city orientation and visit Bo-Kaap, Cape Town's historic Malay Quarter, known for its brightly coloured houses and distinctive cultural heritage. Continue to Table Mountain, where you can ascend by the iconic cable car, weather permitting, and enjoy panoramic views across Cape Town, the Atlantic Seaboard and the Twelve Apostles. Table Mountain cable car entrance is not included and is payable separately.
Continue along the spectacular Chapman's Peak Drive, stopping at scenic viewpoints before travelling to Boulders Beach in Simon's Town to see the famous African penguin colony from the designated boardwalks.
Continue to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, where you can admire the dramatic coastline and diverse natural scenery before exploring Cape Point and its historic lighthouse. The optional Flying Dutchman funicular is available at an additional cost.
Conclude the tour with a short photo stop at Muizenberg Beach, famous for its colourful beach huts, before returning to your hotel.

After breakfast, enjoy your final full day in Cape Town. Take the opportunity to revisit your favourite areas, enjoy some shopping or simply relax before beginning your scenic self-drive journey through the Western Cape.

Day 6: Cape Town → Stellenbosch | Approx. 50 km – 1 hour
After breakfast, collect your rental car in Cape Town and begin your self-drive adventure towards Stellenbosch. Travel into the beautiful Cape Winelands, surrounded by vineyards, mountain scenery and historic estates.
On arrival in Stellenbosch, check in to your hotel and spend the remainder of the day at leisure. Explore the charming historic centre, browse local galleries and cafés or relax at your hotel.

Day 7: Stellenbosch – Half-Day Wine Tour
After breakfast, enjoy your included half-day wine tour through the Cape Winelands. Visit two vineyards for guided wine tastings, including cheese and biltong or chocolate pairings, and learn about South Africa's celebrated wine culture.
Explore a wine cellar before spending some free time in Stellenbosch, with an opportunity to stroll along Dorp Street and De Braak Street and admire the town's historic Dutch architecture.
